Can I be a Yoga Teacher? Common questions for our YTT Course

Do I have enough experience to do a YTT?
Will I be the oldest person on the course?
Am I fit enough to be a Yoga Teacher?
Is this an accredited course?

These are the questions nearly everyone asks us when first considering their yoga teacher training journey - you're not alone!

Do I have enough experience to do a yoga teacher training?

We've never turned anyone away from this course due to a lack of experience. While it's important that you have done yoga before and have a basic understanding of the foundations, everyone will be coming onto this course with different levels of experience - it's part of what makes the group dynamic so interesting! We only ask that you show up with an open heart and mind and a willingness to learn 🙏🏼

Will I be the oldest person on the course?

As a beginner friendly studio, we attract clients of all ages, so our trainings reflect that as well. Generally speaking Julee's training is predominantly female, with students ranging from their mid-twenties to their 60s! Don't worry about your age, bring your life experience to the table and share your wisdom with the group; you make friends for life on this course!

Am I fit enough to be a yoga teacher?

We've had the full range of fitness levels join us on this course; from students with long covid to those with minor injuries. Fitness and strength do play a part in your yoga practice of course, however you don't have to be the most flexible or the strongest yogi to be an excellent teacher - that comes with wisdom and your ability to connect to your students. All the struggles you’ve had in your own yoga journey are perfect examples of physical empathy for your future students; you’ll know exactly how they’re feeling and be able to guide them to their own success!

Is this an accredited course?

Our 200hr intensive course is accredited with Yoga Alliance Global, meaning that once you graduate as a 200hr Yoga Teacher, you can take this certification anywhere you want and teach yoga! 200 hours is the standard certification that the majority of yoga teachers hold; for teachers that specialise in specific types of yoga (such as Yin or Nidra) they will likely hold an additional certification.

A bit about Julee Yew-Crijns…

Julee has been practising yoga for almost 25 years and has taught yoga full time since 2007. Over the past 10 years, Julee has been an assistant on Simon Park’s (noted by Yoga Journal as "one of the most influential and gifted yoga teachers of the next generation”) teacher trainings, been invited to teach on several YTTs in the UK, Malaysia, Sweden & Netherlands, and started a Vinyasa Training and Mentoring programme that she has loved facilitating.

All this experience makes her the ideal lead trainer on this programme, which she has created and curated to show you how to deliver your presence; presence is the way you speak to every student in the room and hold space for everyone, such that makes them feel seen and encourages them to step into their full potential, both on and off the mat.

This syllabus has been designed to serve you, no matter your skill.
